The Amateur Traveler talks to Sam Oppenheim (who has previously been on the show talking about trekking in the Himalayas and traveling to Cuba) about travel to Laos. Sam Visited Laos as part of a year spent traveling around the world when he traveled extensively in Asia. Sam’s itinerary included the capital of Vientiane as well as Luang Prabang, trekking in the hill villages around Luang namtha and cruising on the Mekong River near Nong Khiaw. dropped the issue. So something to think about if you take a cruise. Also think about that. the International Federation of Federation of Journalists is calling for a boycott of Fiji. If you're unaware there was a

the situation in Fiji and just so you're aware at least one organization is

calling for you to boycott that country. Speaking of countries you may not want to

travel to Afghanistan has its first national park.

Thanks to U.S. taxpayers who spent nearly a million dollars to help establish the

landmark, there is a national park in Afghanistan.

You can't drive there. The roads don't get there yet.
