The first piece of news is on a personal level.

I forgot to mention that last week was in fact the three-year anniversary of the amateur traveler. I'd

like to send thanks now to all of you who have written in and encouraged me over the

last three years. There are some weeks this week included where I think maybe I should just

hang up my shingle, it's just too much work, but it's your emails, your letters,

your comments that keep me going, so thanks so much for three years.

In other news you may have heard that Cruise West, which is something we mentioned way

back on Amateur Traveler episode 21 about cruising to Alaska by a small boat, had a little mishap where they ran a ground.

They stranded 51 people because Cruise West does have smaller boats near Glacier Bay in Alaska.

Everyone was evacuated from the boat safely.
