| 0:46.2 | and now four of Europe's largest countries have stopped giving it out at least for now. |
| 0:51.0 | Germany, France, Spain, and Italy are the latest to pull the AstraZeneca shots. Denmark, |
| 0:56.0 | Norway, Ireland, and a few others already pressed pause on this type of vaccine. |
| 1:00.7 | The countries want to take another look at the shots' safety, |
| 1:03.6 | since a few dozen people who got one ended up getting dangerous blood clots afterwards. |
| 1:08.4 | That said, AstraZeneca and international regulators say there's no evidence the vaccine actually |
| 1:12.8 | caused those clots. The vaccine maker says in all, there have been 37 reports of blood clots out |
| 1:18.3 | of more than 17 million people who received the shot in Europe. So the company says it's likely |
| 1:23.4 | a coincidence. The World Health Organization and European Medicines Agency are still recommending |
| 1:29.2 | this shot, saying the benefits of getting it outweigh the risks of side effects, |
| 1:32.9 | and it's still being given out in places like Canada and Britain. To be clear, |
| 1:36.8 | the AstraZeneca vaccine is not authorized or available here in the US. Though AstraZeneca |
| 1:42.2 | has been planning to apply for authorization from the FDA in the next few weeks, |
| 1:46.6 | so we'll keep you updated. |
