And my friends, I understand that negativity you are all observing in the news today. It's so easy

and so common to be overwhelmed by the challenges reported that turning off the news today. It's so easy and so common to be overwhelmed by the challenges reported

that turning off the news and getting on with their own lives seems like the best thing to do,

or maybe even worse than that, turning on the news, sitting back passively and just watching it for

entertainment seems like the best thing to do. After all, the challenges of corruption and

poverty reported in Syria, the Middle East, Africa, the violence and racism reported in Chicago

or in my own backyard of St. Louis. They're just too great. Might as well move on. Nothing we can do

about it. Right? Wrong. One of my heroes and great change agents of our time,

her name, Mother Teresa, I have a picture of her hanging in my office. Well, she wrote,

Not all of us can do great things, but we can all do small things with great love.

She clearly is an example of someone who lived this.

She observed the realities of global challenges, and then she took action.
