0:11.7	Hey everybody. So we typically don't do an episode for general conference and we aren't doing one today, but I just wanted to
0:25.1	record a little, I don't know, episode, I guess. Just to honor President Nelson, I was speaking at the Restore Conference on Saturday, the 27th of September.
0:45.0	And in my presentation, I was talking about how when I went through treatment all these different times and I had been
0:58.3	struggling so much and I finally was in my last treatment center and I got an email from a family
1:07.3	friend and it said, Ashley, if you read the Book of Mormon every single day, I promise
1:13.2	you'll never go back to your old life. And I was like, yeah, right, like, that's not going to work.
1:20.2	You know, I've been through rehab so many times. That's not going to work. But I was like, I have
1:25.2	nothing to lose. Like, I had already been through
1:27.8	hell and back at that point, and I had lost everything. So I took the challenge, and I have
1:38.0	literally read the book Mormon every single day since he told me that 12 and a half years ago.
1:42.2	And it's interesting because President
1:46.2	Nelson, he said something in the 2017 general conference. He says, I promise that as you
1:54.1	daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day,
1:59.1	even the gripping plague of pornography and other
2:01.6	mind-numbing addictions. And when I heard that quote, it was such a testament to me of the
2:11.9	truthfulness of the gospel. And I knew that to be true. I knew that reading the Book of Mormon every day
2:20.3	provided this strength and President Nelson sharing that was in reference to mind-numbing
2:28.6	addictions, which is what I was struggling with. It was so powerful for me. I admire him so much. I think that it's really
2:37.8	hard to put into words how much I respect and admire the 12 apostles and President Nelson and
2:43.6	the first presidency. They really radiate this genuine light and kindness. And I think in the world today, we see there's so many things going on.
