All right so yeah clearly I'm just making up crap here, but with close call decisions where

it's like really tight, maybe it's like do I go to Harvard or do I go to Yale, you know,

maybe something like that. You have to make that one every day.

We've all made that choice.

This is still, it still is unrealistic as me not

So this is tight and we feel like, you know, when we're deciding that it really is open to us,

this is the claim, that it really is kind of open to us to either go to Harvard or Yale.

Of course, the truth of determinism is not, right?

So we might think that there are sometimes decisions like that where it does feel like it's open.

And it's certainly the case that we do not have introspective, right, internal conscious

access to all that neural stuff that's going on.

We do have a rather limited conscious picture of what goes into our decisions.

And when we reach those sort of points of decision that could be close calls, there's a sense of

openness there.

And all of this could be indeed feeding into this concern about determinism.

But all of this doesn't require actually some sort of metaphysical explanation.
