Summary

In this episode we look back at the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday. We start by reckoning with the fact we've extended our lead at the top, despite a sense of frustration that permeated after a goalless draw. Then we move onto the match itself, and the key incidents including big chances missed by Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres, with some focus on the striker, what he's not bringing to the team right now, and what that requires of Mikel Arteta. There were second half changes, a slightly contentious penalty incident, but the game played out in disappointing fashion as we struggled to create. In part 2 there are questions about our attacking potency based on some stats, Declan Rice's 'outburst' at the end, how we view draws, Martin Odegaard, reconfiguring midfield from time to time, and loads more.

It's been like mad the last couple of days because I will admit to a heightened sense of frustration at the final whistle on Saturday evening after our

nil-nil draw at the city ground. Cold light of day, dust settling, all that kind of stuff.

0:45.4

I'm a little more sanguine, a little more, okay, you know, we're in good shape, we're still in

0:50.7

good shape, but I harbor some worries and concerns like many people do,

0:55.4

but I think this season is testing. It's driving me fucking slightly around the bend, you know?

1:04.6

How much of the change in your mood is down to Uncle Unai's efforts at Villapal?

1:10.0

Sort of not really a great deal, to be honest.

1:13.7

I think it would have heightened my concern

1:16.7

if Villa had won yesterday

1:18.1

and they get to what, four points of Arsenal?

1:21.2

If they'd won, then I'd be like,

1:22.7

like I don't really see it with Villa.

1:26.3

But, you know, for me, it's more about city.

1:30.6

It's always been about City.

1:32.3

And that's not to dismiss Aston Villa or their title credentials or their title aspirations,

1:38.5

even though Una Emery afterwards seemed to say, we're not good enough to be in the top five,
