Hey, I just wanted to talk about a few things. First of all, did you listen to I don't want to trick you, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon transition, 1968, 1969, and we've got phone calls, which kind of makes it richer. I always caution that, you know, you have the phone calls, so it makes things pop out more. But think about we don't have phone calls

for the rest of history. In fact, certain presidents afterward, particularly after Nixon, decided to

reduce the amount that they were taped and things like that. So you have even less of that.

But it's nice to have and we can examine certain things. Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson

were two people who knew each other, course, worked together, sometimes opposite when Richard

Nixon was vice president, which means he was president of the Senate, and Lyndon Johnson was the majority

leader of the Senate. So he would be speaking to Richard Nixon many times. Richard Nixon

would often be the point man if it was an Eisenhower administration bill that was in the Senate.

So for instance, the 1957 Civil Rights Act,

Lyndon Johnson supports that act, but there's certain elements of it that the Eisenhower wants

that Lyndon Johnson isn't ready to support, probably because he's got conservative southern

senators that are, he's trying to keep on board or to keep from blocking it
