Amen. All right, let's get into God's word. On Sunday mornings, we're going through

1 Corinthians chapter by chapter, verse by verse. And today, we're just going to have one verse,

verse 14, 1 Corinthians 10, verse 14. I'll have you turn there at this time. And once you do,

if you're able, I'll ask you to stand.

You can follow along as I read.

Again, just one verse, verse 14, where the Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, writes,

therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry let's pray

lord we are with great anticipation looking forward to that which you have for us in our time together in your word

today. Lord, we don't want to miss anything that your spirit would say to us your church and so we would ask that there would be no distractions whatsoever

that would hinder us from hearing you speak so lord will, will you now speak? Your servants are listening. In Jesus

name, amen. You can be seated. Thank you. Today's teaching is part one of a new series I've titled in

question form. Are you a Christian hybrid?

Not do you drive a hybrid? No, are you a Christian hybrid? Now, I know that I need to explain

what I mean by hybrid, especially in the context of our text here, in the remainder of this chapter in 1 Corinthians 10.

So let me attempt that.

First, in terms of biology, we know a hybrid is the cross-breeding of plants

or animals, and in terms of technology, a hybrid is the combining of both gas and electric in cars.

Miriam Webster's dictionary defines a hybrid as something that is formed by combining two or more things.

One example is an offspring of two animals or plants of different races, breeds, varieties, or species.

And another example is a person whose background is a blend, keyword, blend of two diverse cultures or traditions, something we know about here on the islands

for sure.
