What's good, everyone. This is Dr. Ney. Welcome to another episode of Docs outside the box. But before we jump into this heavy subject, I got to introduce my wonderful co-host with the co-most.

That makes no sense. I know. I know, but just roll with it, though. Dr. Renee. So listen, guys, we rarely get a chance to have a show about this.

This show is going to be, as you can see by the title, this show is going to be about should

we take our show off of Spotify?

Before we jump into that, though, you know, remember last year or about a year and a half ago,

we did an episode on Joe Budden leaving Spotify about how he got the bag from Spotify, which was, I couldn't, I think it was like in the 20s or 30s in terms of millions of dollars, had his show exclusively on Spotify.

And then through a multitude of reasons, mainly as Joe Button would say, they felt like employees of Spotify, as opposed to

partners. He decided to not renew a contract. Shortly afterwards, they left Spotify in terms of an

exclusive partner. Now, you can still get Joe Budden's podcast on Spotify, but they're no longer exclusive

partners. Right. And I know some people, they wrote to me, they DM me and they email me,

they're like, why are you talking about this subject? And I'm like, yo, it's out there. Like the reason

why I talk about these situations, the reason why I have these discussions about what happens

in mainstream, what happens in pop culture is, is oftentimes I can see I'm like, oh, this is something that's really related to what we do as doctors.

Oh, yeah.

Right.

Right.

And it's a big jump to go from, you know, Joe Budden leaving, not renewing his contract to what's going now with Joe Rogan, COVID-19, and so forth. Mm-hmm. But you could see, like, you can put the dots together and figure out, like, okay, like, yeah, it makes sense while we're here now. Yeah, absolutely. Right? So that's the reason why we talk about certain things. That's the reason why we talk about Joe Budden and his contract. That's the reason why we talked about Dame Dash and his concepts of employment and so forth

is because when we're watching these videos, we're like, hmm, how does that relate to doctors?

Yeah, how does relate to medicine?

Yeah.

And the thing is, you know, it's important for us to learn from other industries, right?

Because guess what? You know, the businesses that be learn from other industries, right? Because guess what?
