Oh, I saw a headline this morning that the Aghis are considering bringing back bonfire.

It's been 25 years.

It is time. It is time. They never should have ended it to start with.

When we started in radio in 2005, it was still fresh, still raw, and there were people who would get angry that I was bringing the subject up. I'm not an Aggie. I'm not pining for a time, pun intended, when I was building bonfire. I've never even been to bonfire. I didn't do it. My

kids didn't do it.

But what I don't think people realize

is the power of tradition. The power of passing down rights, the rights of passage, the rituals, the tradition, the legacy.

You can't build that overnight.

It takes a long time.

And more importantly, than saying, we've been building the bonfire for 90 years, which they had at that

we've been building bonfire for 90 years. It's not just the brag factor. It is the deep sense of connection. You don't let

liberal newspaper writers determine what traditions you will and will not uphold

and honor and continue and preserve.

Because they didn't go there.

They're a bunch of little bitches.

And they're not the people you're picking up the phone and calling to raise money to build the new building.

That's what's important for people to understand.

The phone calls that are placed to donate to the new stadium are some old white dude who lives in Belleville or

who lives in Belleville or Navasota or Madisonville or Hearn or outside of Brenham and he's not politically correct and he graduated in 62 and he met his bell there and he married her and his kids and grandkids have gone there

Used to actually now they've killed so much of that legacy process that

it makes it harder and harder.
