Please turn with me to the text for this morning sermon,

Acts Chapter 4,

verses 23 to 31.

When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said,

Sovereign Lord, who did make the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who by the mouth of our Father David,

thy servant, did say by the Holy Spirit, why did the Gentiles rage and the the in a ray and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his

anointed. For truly in this city were gathered together against thy

holy servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both

Herod and Ponsch's pilot, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel to do whatever thy hand and thy plan had

be destined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,

while thou stretches out thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed for the name of thy

Holy Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken,

and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.

My question this morning is whether or not we should pray like that.

That is, verses. 29 and 30,

granted thy servants to speak thy words with all boldness,

while thou stretches out thy hand to to heal, and signs and wonders are performed

through the name of thy Holy Servant Jesus.

Should we pray both those things, or should we just pray one of those things? Should we pray, Lord, make us bold and stop?

Or should we pray, Lord, make us bold, and as we preach, heal people and do signs and wonders among them?

That's my question. And I confess that in the 10 years of my preaching here at Bethlehem, I don't know of any question that has caused me
