Several years ago Chad and I were working on an interview

Because I don't know how many of you remember the pink sludge ground beef hype and was, it was the big story.

There was, in ground beef, there was what they were using,

what big ag was using was called pink sludge and it was getting all the attention.

And so we came across a book by a sweet lady, I think she lives in Iowa I don't remember she'll tell us here in a minute my name was

Maureen Ogle and she wrote a book called In Meat We Trust, an unexpected history of Carnivore America and Ambitious Brew.

So this woman, sorry, in Meat We Trust was one, an unexpected history of Carnivore America,

and she wrote another book called Ambitious Brew, the Story of American Beer.

And she's just this woman who researches topics and writes about them,

the way of David McCullough would, Stephen Ambrose or Shelby Foote and I just adore this woman and so we were only going to talk to her for one quick segment and and We went to the break and Chad was like, maybe we should keep her on longer. You

seem to be enjoying this and I was. So we decided to pull out some of our old archival interviews and segments to share again so that they're not lost to history.

Oh, Chad tells me this is from 2014. It was 10 years ago. I absolutely love this woman and I think you will too. She reminds me of my librarian Mrs. Toll, Margaret Toll growing up.
