I'm very pleased to introduce our last speaker and his respondent.

Professor John Haldane is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Center of Ethics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs at St. Andrews University in Scotland.

He's also a visiting professor this year at Notre Dame University, and he's in the midst of a week of giving a lot of talks.

We're happy he could be here.

I think he was speaking alongside Charles Taylor last night and along Alastair Magentire tomorrow night,

so it's important that he could be here to kind of show the priorities, you know.

He's the author of many books and articles, including atheism and theism,

which he co-authored with J.J.C. Smart.

This is an interesting book.

An intelligent person's guide to religion,

Reasonable Faith from Rutledge University Press in 2010.

These are really wonderful books that I'm sure some of you have read, and many of you will read eventually.

His respondent today is Professor William Jaworski, who is Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University,

and author of an important work on hyalomorphism and epistemology entitled Philosophy of Mind, a Comprehensive Introduction.

The subject of Professor Haldane's talk this afternoon is Aquinas and Realism. Please help me to welcome him.

The last occasion in which Father Thomas Joseph and I were together was in the Vatican, I think, in July.
