Summary

In this episode of The President's Daily Brief: Confusion and escalation in the Strait of Hormuz, as Iran declares the critical waterway open—only to reverse course hours later and fire on commercial ships, raising new concerns about global shipping and energy markets.  In a historic move, U.S. officials travel to Cuba, signaling a potential diplomatic opening even as Washington ramps up pressure on Havana. Maduro is gone, and now the purge is underway, as former allies of Venezuela’s regime are pushed out or detained while a new power structure takes hold. And in today’s Back of the Brief—an unsettling pattern emerges, as an eleventh scientist death is linked to a growing string of disappearances involving individuals with access to sensitive U.S. information.
