I'm really excited this week with your host James Steinberg and David Beattney.

I'm really excited this week to have as our guest, David Sunnonshine, who is very knowledgeable about a topic that's very near and dear to my heart, the incredible story of AriGo and

0:36.1

spiritism. David, how did you first come to find out about ARIGO and what was going on down in Brazil?

0:42.9

Well, I was living in Brazil since 1985, married to a Brazilian making films down there,

0:48.9

and was approached by an American producer who had read a book about ARIgo to do with film about him. And it had been

an area of my interest for many, many years as well. I have a background in neurobiology and

1:39.8

It had been optioned by a third person. And so I began working on developing the story outside of

1:47.4

really what was written in that book, which is pretty much public domain stuff. There's not

1:51.7

much in there that you couldn't find from public sources. The writer John Fuller had never met

1:57.5

Argo himself. He wrote the story after he'd passed away. So my work became much

2:03.6

more intimate involving the people who had worked with him, his family members, people who had been
