I am so excited today to be interviewing Katie Thune. And we're going to talk about sexuality and appropriate and safe boundaries for differently wired kids. And this is such an important topic. It comes up all the time with my patients. And it's so important that we figure this out because our kids and our students and our

clients are more vulnerable. You know, it's confusing about boundaries. There's a lot of great

area there. And then also, they can be impulsive sometimes and react before they're thinking

through their own behavior. So we're

really excited about diving into this topic today. So Katie, tell us a little bit about you.

Yeah. So my name is Katie. I'm from Minnesota. I was a teacher here in the public schools

for about 12 years, teaching middle school most of my time so all those

fun hormones um amazingness oh yeah uh good stuff the health education and special ed is what i what i taught

and i left the schools about six years ago when I started to, I was, I was teaching

sex education to a lot of my students with special needs. And stories started coming forward of

sexual assault situations and abuse for my students.

And I did a little research, and I just thought, you know, this can't just be this little school in St. Paul, Minnesota, and sure enough, it's not.

And the rate of assault is just way too high for this population.

And so I knew I needed to do something more. So I left six years ago. It's taken a

little while to figure out what it is that I'm doing and things. But now we have tools and resources

and curriculum and our lessons, curriculum is being using over 100 schools around the nation.
