| 0:00.0 | Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Tom Bill U show live. I'm excited to have you guys here. I've got Drew in the house. We've got Mason over on the community. And we've got Eric and G. Behind the scenes. What's up, everybody? I hope you guys are having a wonderful morning. Apple. Yeah, Apple has an AI problem. And they're ahead of their, I think, September 9th launch for the iPhone 17. So it's just going to be another iPhone with an additional camera. People are really starting to kind of hold back on the most innovative U.S. company. There's calls for it to buy Mistral AI. There's calls for it to buy perplexity. But whatever they do, they even did a deal with Gemini so that way he can power their next generation, Siri devices. |
| 0:43.4 | If you were Apple, if you were Tim Cook, would you want to develop, like, how would you get their AI? |
| 0:49.5 | How would you get them out into the new? |
| 0:51.4 | These guys were morons. |
| 0:52.5 | I cannot believe what they did. |
| 0:53.8 | This is the biggest |
| 0:54.8 | mistake Apple has made since they fired Steve Jobs. Like this is wild. I cannot believe that they |
| 1:01.6 | missed, um, AI that this is catastrophically stupid. So they need to buy one of the biggest AI |
| 1:09.7 | companies, however many billions that's going to cost you. They got it. You got to buy them. You've got to put them into your phone. You've got to outperform everybody at the level of AI. AI is going to be essentially everything in the future. You go out even, I don't know, maybe seven years apps. What? Like I'm not going to download somebody else's app or maybe I will download somebody else's app, but they are going to come and go on the app store like that. There's not going to be these big dominant things anymore. People are just going to, like, get AI, create a thing that does this very specific, weird thing that I want done. The one that I keep coming back to is there is no satisfying |
| 1:44.7 | app for tracking your anime and manga consumption, which is a wind up for me. Also, I would love to |
| 1:50.3 | find a way to like do better at like creating a dashboard for my game stuff because I am like a |
| 1:55.5 | data junkie. So I want to see how much time did I spend on that game? Did I get the like good |
| 2:00.5 | stuff? How much else is remaining? |
| 2:02.2 | You sort of get stuff like that with steam, but it's all like disaggregated. I want somebody to bring it together and like give me my like my virtual life dashboard. |
| 2:10.6 | Okay. Well, there's obviously not a big enough market for that or somebody would have made it. So now you're going to see a world where there is a gazillion |
| 2:18.1 | like these really niche things that you will just prompt the AI and it will create it for you. |
| 2:23.7 | So that's Apple's bread and butter. Like that's what they make their fucking money on. And so for them |
| 2:30.5 | not to be at the forefront of this is absolutely moronic. |
| 2:35.4 | Now, look, as a game developer, I'm well aware. |
| 2:38.7 | The people are going to play things I said in the past back on a loop. |
| 2:42.0 | And one day, somebody's going to point out, I cannot believe that Tom did not see |
| 2:45.9 | XYZ thing coming and didn't integrate it into his game. |
