Today I'm going to be sharing something with you that I wish I didn't have to share.

And it's a tribute to a past guest that we had on the show and also a personal friend

from high school, Emily Joy Bell.

Emily came on the podcast a few years ago to talk about her and her family's decision

to leave behind the traditional life and travel the world together.

At the end of the episode, she talked about a recent diagnosis she had of breast cancer.

So sadly, this past week, Emily has passed away because of this battle and I wouldn't

say she lost the battle because my goodness, did she fight as hard as she possibly could.

This is the third tribute episode I've done in my history of this podcast and as awful

as it is to do this, it also is an honor, an honor to be able to lift up the voice of

someone who deserves to be heard, not just now, but for years to come, an honor to celebrate

their thoughts, their humaneness, their voice, and an honor to share it with the people

that love them and who can still come to love them.

Emily Joy Bell is one of those people for me.

So with great sadness, but also with great honor, I shared this past episode we recorded

together with you today.
