Summary

Is there something that has made you think other people can do that, but not me? This is part of a monthly series to convince you otherwise. These episodes feature real women from this community who are answering the question “How do you…?” about their various passions and pursuits. Leann is a mom of 4 living with a chronic illness, MS, which she was diagnosed with while her children were very young. She radiates a positive outlook and says, "It is so beautiful to do something good with the bad part of your story." She now runs a charitable kids' triathlon called "Tri 2 Beat MS." She wanted to create something that inspires physical fitness, includes as many youth as possible, and raises money for a good cause. This is her story of how she became a director, how a community came together, and how ultimately she continues to learn from the challenges it presents. 0:21.5	One of my friends wanted to plan a little race in our community, a race to benefit breast
0:28.7	cancer because her mother had recently died from breast cancer.
0:32.7	And you know, we did our best, but it was more of just like a neighborhood event that
0:40.0	people showed up on the running trails.
0:41.8	We had some oranges for them.
0:43.3	We had some drinks at the end.
0:44.7	They ran their 5K, and then we got in trouble by the city.
0:48.9	So if I were to say how not to do something, I would say do what we did, even though it's
0:55.1	still felt really good in the end and a nice tribute to her mom.
