It's our climate story of the week, which we do every Tuesday on the show.

And today we have a special guest to mark an

anniversary. It was five years ago this month, February 7th, 2019, when New York Representative

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in office barely a month introduced the Green New Deal resolution,

along with Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts. Here's 30 seconds of that moment,

five years and two weeks ago. Today is the day that we truly embark on a comprehensive

agenda of economic, social, and racial justice in the United States of America. That's what this

agenda is all about, because climate change,

climate change and our environmental challenges are one of the biggest existential threats to

our way of life, not just as a nation, but as a world. AOC on February 7th, 2019.

So how's it going five years later?

With us now for our climate story of the week is Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,

whose district covers parts of northwest Queens and eastern parts of the Bronx.
