It's called The Garden House.

And this is actually from episode number 148 of January

2012. It's from the archives. I grew up in the 60s and 70s and a house called Garden House.

My parents bought it in the 1950s after my grandfather, a retired farmer, had rented it for

some years. This happened in Yorkshire, England. The house was an old farmhouse, with walls

three feet thick, and it had an acre of land and some old farm buildings.

Our house was a maze of different rooms, built at different times.

Some parts of it were 18th century, other parts 19th century,

and the part where we saw what we saw, a nice, boring, modern bedroom built in the 1950s. That happened when part of the old house virtually collapsed and had to be rebuilt. I remember my dad saying that there was a time when

the kitchen ceiling was held up with a tree trunk. In 1971, my mom died suddenly and unexpectedly, which left Dad alone to bring up myself and my brother.

I was ten when she died. So when this happened, I would have been twelve or thirteen.

By around 1973, Dad had met his wartime sweetheart again, someone he'd known before

my mom, and she was widowed with four kids of her own.

They decided to get married.

But I'm moving ahead of myself.
