For many prophecies in the Bible,

there is both a near fulfillment and a far one.

And the near fulfillment gives you a picture

or a type of the far one.

And a lot of times Old Testament prophets

talk about both fulfillments as if they are one, even though when you get closer to them,

you see that they were separate.
