In this episode we bring you the story of Anthony ‘Tony’ Donnellan, whose disappearance from Camberwell, South London has baffled the authorities for close to three decades.
Tony, 29, was originally from Ireland but moved to the UK in the eighties. He worked a variety of jobs over the years and was employed as a barman in Harvey Nichols when he vanished in October 1995.
This episode hears from Tony’s older sister Rita. She talks about their upbringing in county Clare and how Tony, who was gay, felt unwelcome in Ireland at a time when homosexuality was illegal. Rita walks us through the events leading up to Tony’s disappearance and explains how she ultimately came to the decision to hire a private investigator to look into her brother’s case.
