So this has been an extremely difficult week or so in the history of our country.

The tragic murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis caused by a police officer taking a knee into his neck for nearly nine minutes has sparked protests and riots from city to city and coast to coast with national guards flooding the streets and curfews being implemented in a lot of different cities.

And, you know, as this situation continued to heighten, I decided that doing a sports podcast just didn't feel right on Sunday slash Monday of this past week.

You know, talking about sports during a time like this just kind of felt tone deaf to me

and kind of just felt wrong.

In my opinion, there should be one conversation going on right now, and that is the conversation about racism and racial inequality and racial injustices.

In my opinion, if the conversation isn't about that, then he should probably just hold off.

Now, sure, is there an argument for an escape being needed?

I guess.

But maybe, maybe we shouldn't be escaping that conversation right now.
