Welcome to the Bronx Pinstripe Show. It's a good thing that we did the GM meeting when we did because Yankee signed Anthony Rizzo. And I looked actually. Last year, it was published on like November 10th. And this year was November 10th. So we did it around the same time last year's too.

I remember last year I was thinking the same time last year's too.

I remember last year I was thinking the same thing because the year before I believe is when we were like, oh man, they're making moves already and we haven't done it yet. So we had to build

a couple in. And this one, yeah, we both pretty about, I think both teams nailed the contract.

It was pretty much what we expected. Good value. I think. Your option.

Yeah. I mean, I actually was surprised it wasn't three fully guaranteed years. I just figured if Rizzo's

opting out, he's got to be confident he's going to get three years on the market. But he clearly

wanted to be back with the Yankees. The Yankees wanted him back. I don't know because of that. There's a slight discount. Again, it's not like a bargain basement type of contract. He's still making $17 million a year, which is a slight raise. And so it's $40 million guaranteed because of that buyout in the third year. but i think overall this is a good contract for is

a good contract for the team it's a good contract for the team no doubt um yeah and he got you know

they they they uh he turned down the option because you wanted to get paid a little bit more i

think this is honestly like this is this is uh ilia i think we even put two years of a third year option on this one,

this for, for his deal. It just, it just makes a lot of sense. And honestly, what, your, your guy's contract that you had on the, on the, on that sheet was spot on too. The, um, the biggest thing for me is I think this is, I really do think this is an early indicator the judge is happening because I think they are. I know you keep saying that.

You really think that

these two I do think it's like yes I do I do I think that that they're that close I think that

this team was in a good spot and they all recognize that and I think I think that the team recognizes that they had something good going.

And unfortunately, injuries and other things just got in the way.

And yeah, I do.

I think all things considered where you want to be, I don't think he wants to be here.
