The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction.

Jealous and proud of it, a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak, a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic,

racist, infantic, genocidal, philicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacical, sadomasochistic, capriciously

malevolent bully.

That's atheist Richard Dawkins making lots of claims about the God of the Old Testament,

including that he is misogynistic.

This is accepted as almost unquestioning truth that Christianity has a low view of women

and is essentially misogynistic, but is it true?
