Well, this isn't the first time we've talked about whales and human attempts to understand what

they're saying underwater.

Just a few months ago, we had a story detailing how scientists for the first time had a

conversation, quote unquote, with a humpback named Twain by playing back some of the sounds

they'd recorded from his pod the previous day.

But that's not the only research team attempting to advance humanity's understanding of whale communication.

Per the Associated Press, scientists studying sperm whales in the Caribbean have described, for the first time,

the basic elements of how they might be talking to each other.
