Animators. That's because in mid-August, streaming giant HBO Max abruptly kiboshed over 25 animated titles from its library.

Multiple folks behind the shows told the rap they were blindsided by the decision, which they said was made with no warning

or any communication at all for that matter. The first question, why? Well, the answer comes down to,

well, of course, money. You may remember way back to March of this year when Discovery and Warner

Media announced a $43 billion merger. The plan was to pull major names like HBO Max, Discovery Plus, HGTV, and

DC films under one Gijujic umbrella. At the time of the announcement, Discovery's CFO-Gunner

Weidenfels shrugged off the possibility that the new conglomerate to be called Warner Brothers

Discovery would be mired in debt, but mired it was, well, is.
