Summary

The Altamont Speedway Free Festival was a counterculture-era rock concert held on Saturday, December 6, 1969, at the Altamont Speedway in northern-western California. The free concert featured The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Santna and Jefferson Airplane. The Hell's Angels were hired to provide security. To the shock of the promoters, more than 300,000 people showed up. There were violent confrontations between The Hell's Angels and the fans leading to the death of 18 year old Meredith Hunter.

0:22.6	Altamont Speedway was a site of a very large rock concert back in 1969,
