In July of 2014, Florida State Law Professor Dan Markell was murdered in his Tallahassee driveway.

He was shot execution style in the middle of a bitter custody battle following his divorce from Wendy Aedelson.

Prosecutors say that Wendy's mother, Donna Aedelson, the matriarch of a powerful South Florida family, became the architect of a deadly conspiracy.

Emails and recordings revealed Donna's obsession with relocating Wendy and her two young sons

to Miami. The only obstacle in the way was Dan Markell. She allegedly enlisted her son

Charlie Adelson who recruited his lover, McBanowa to hire hitmen.

Now over a decade later, Donna Adelson, age 75, is on trial facing charges of first-degree

murder, conspiracy, and solicitation, accused of orchestrating a murder for hire plot born

of custody and control. Wendy denies involvement and has not been charged.

And tonight, we have all the big moments from court, including testimony from a jailhouse informant.
