Today I want to talk about one of the most important benefits of walking.

So yesterday, January 7th, was the 43rd anniversary of the day that Ava and I met,

and I told the story of how that happened in yesterday's episode.

So we met on January 7th, 1983. We got married March 31st, 1984, so we're coming up on

42 years of marriage. Ava is one of the smartest and most mentally tough people I've ever met.

And I've got a pretty large sample size to make that judgment.

Her mental toughness inspires me and candidly sometimes scares me.

I've said before, you put in front of my wife the easy button and the hard button,

and she's pressing the hard button. Let's do it the more challenging way.

And there are times when I would much rather push the easy button.

It's like, seriously?

That mental toughness has been challenged over the last six years.

My wife has been through a lot.

In 2018, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Gratefully, it was caught early.

She had surgery, and I think it was 20 rounds of radiation and then a medication.

Two years after that, she was in a terrible car crash.

Woman blew through a red light plowed into the driver's side door.

Ava, we still don't know how many bones were broken.

Maybe a couple of dozen.
