he sought us out to let us know how we could escape the coming destruction.

Well, as we come to the end of Joshua 2, we're picking up in the story of Rehab. She has just

appealed for mercy to the two spies who represent the God of Israel and has said,

I know God is giving this country into your hands.

And when judgment comes, would you spare me and would you spare my family?

And they have told her, yes, we will.

We give you that promise.

We make you an oath that we will spare you.

But you have to put the scarlet cord.
