Welcome to the Orbus fly fishing guide podcast. This week, let's talk about salt water

fly fishing, specifically starting out in salt water fly fishing your first experience.

I love fishing to selective trout with little delicate leaders and small flies as much as

anyone but I also get a huge thrill out of booming out a big ten weight over open

water with a with a size 2-0 streamer fly it's it's really like a whole

different whole different experience and it's almost like learning all over

again and it really adds a lot of variety to your flyfishing.

So my advice if you're a freshwater flyfisher

and you've never done it before,

don't start out on an expensive trip halfway around the world or even halfway around the country for something

like bonefish or tarpin or sailfish.

A lot of these species require some experience.

They're quite difficult.

It can be frustrating if you've never,

if you've never fished salt water before

and expect to go out on a bonefish fled
