Today, we talk to Professor Barry Strauss about his new book, Ten Seas And His Podcast

Antiquitous.

One Caesar's is a popular history of Roman emperors from Augustus to Constantine, and in

the interview he will explain how and why he chose his Ten, and then I quiz him about

Diocletian and Constantine, the two emperors who contributed most directly to life in Byzantium.

I was very interested in his answers and it makes me want to study that period at some

point in the future.

Antiquitous is a new podcast where Professor Strauss shares his thoughts on famous figures

from the ancient world.

Season one covers an array of famous Greek and Roman generals and season two zeroes in

on the death of Julius Caesar.

Barry Strauss is Professor of History and Classics at Cornell University, and he's

written five other books on Greco-Roman subjects with a particular focus on leadership.
