Hi, and welcome once again to History Dweaves. I am Tim. Welcome to the podcast where we take a lighthearted look at the dark side of history. Today we've got a story. It's entitled An Innocent Man, the Execution of Timothy Evans. Timothy Evans was a man who was convicted of murder,

who was convicted of killing his wife and daughter in England in 1950,

and he was executed.

Turns out that he was completely innocent,

that he and his wife had lived above a serial killer name of John Christie.

And that was determined later on that Christy was the one who actually committed these murders.

And Timothy Evans was executed.

And this eventually led to the abolishment of the capital punishment in England,

one of the main reasons.

So we're going to talk about Timothy Evans.

We're going to talk about John Christie, the serial killer, and it's a pretty messed up story.

But before we do, let me introduce our panel.

Why did you do that for?

Because I felt it necessary.

My staff was getting a little too big for their britches.

Did he decide to bring them down a notch? I needed to lower the hammer.
