Summary
This Friday episode begins with a prompt apology to the local news industry and to Xander Schauffele on an item unrelated to the local news issue. Then Brendan and Andy get into the early action from Pebble Beach, where Patrick Cantlay went low, Akshay Bhatia dialed in, and Jordan Spieth’s duck tape held up on the coast. They also highlight the significant impact a bad piece of fruit had on Bhatia’s sterling round. There’s also some chatter about the 6th hole and a radical proposal heard on PGA Tour Live to add internal OB there. Then they get to Precision Pro Flashback Friday (promo code Shotgun20) and the subject this week is the miracle 1994 Pebble Beach Pro Am win by Johnny Miller, who’d been a full-time TV person at that point and hadn’t won in 7 years. He’d barely made any starts on Tour in the 90s. The Flashback gets into his struggles with the putting yips that had him playing (and somehow winning) as a ceremonial golfer that week, as well as the tense relationship he had with players (including one now in a TV tower) due to some comments in those early years in the booth.

| 0:52.0 | I'm great too. It's the end of a week. We're getting through it. The spring is on the horizon, I think. Maybe? I don't know. It's just, it's good. It's Friday. I can't complain. |
| 1:04.0 | But first, our first segment here, I want to get through a run through a bunch of things. I'm going to call it Feedback Friday. We got a bunch of different odds and ends messages. I thought I'd share. |
| 1:14.0 | The first is a tweet that will provoke one of my great apologies. It's absolute. I am, I am. |
| 1:26.0 | Walked come here and shame, hate my head and shame. It's a tweet from Lou Turner. Welcome to this Wednesday morning. He's... |
| 1:35.0 | I'm going to find Jacksonville, you know, local news anchors. |
| 1:38.0 | Works and local news. Send me a video or send us a video. Just, hey, just trying to make a living. So what are the best videos we remember? |
| 1:49.0 | You can tell he's a pro. Just the cadence, the delivery, the panning, the camera movement, just hilarious. I was laughing at it all day. My wife was laughing at it. |
| 1:57.0 | So I got, I got to apologize to everyone in local news across the world, certainly across the United States. I made an overbroad statement. I was mostly making fun of you being into local news. |
| 2:08.0 | I think I was making a... I deserve to apologize to me too. No, not to you. I don't need to apologize. You watching local news on YouTube TV. |
| 2:17.0 | But look, I made a overbroad statement based on very minor interaction with a few kind of Cleveland local news with their approaches. I think just... |
| 2:27.0 | Here's my big beef with it. I love the sports guys, all weather people out there. Like, nothing at local sports casters are the best. I don't want to get... |
| 2:36.0 | Look, I don't even know. It might be a Boeing business. I have no idea. I shouldn't have said it. I was overbroad. I apologized to everyone. |
| 2:43.0 | The big issue with the local news approach is all the ban on the street interviews. They'd never ever provide any value. They speak to these Yahoo's and nut jobs who just start rambling on a bike. That's my issue with local news. It becomes like a comment section. It's not the actual work. It was only TV again. |
| 3:05.0 | One of the great tragedies in media is the hollowing out of local reporting that's happening much worse than any kind of golf media being reduced. But look, that's all. My man on the street interviews are what really kind of get me going. |
| 3:19.0 | I'm a big fan of the man on the street interviews. I love what I love about him. It's kind of like Jordan's beef. I got no clue what's going to happen next. |
