A bombshell investigation of sexual abuse within the Southern Baptist Convention is revealed

that SPC leaders kept a secret list of more than 700 abuse cases.

Stonewall investigations covered up allegations of sexual abuse and sexual violence.

The report placed the blame on the executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention,

including on the SPC's law firm, which advised against taking responsibility for abuse,

writing, quote, almost always the internal focus was on protecting the SPC from legal liability

and not uncaring for survivors.

The investigation was conducted by a third party and was commissioned a year ago by the Southern

Baptist, a 13.7 million member denomination.

My guest today is Russell Moore, he's a public theologian for Christianity today.

Now May 22nd, Moore wrote that the abuse investigation was an apocalypse for the Southern

Baptist Convention.
