John the Baptist is one of the great characters of the Bible. His purpose was simple,

to prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Jesus himself said of John

that he was the greatest of those born of women.

Bible, but just listen very carefully, if you will. We read yesterday John chapter 1 and verse number 35, where John stood in two of his disciples

and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, behold the Lamb of God.

Verse 37 says, and the two disciples heard him speak, and they follow Jesus.
