My personal perspective is that we have all these idioms around don't rock the boat,

don't open up a can of worms, better sweep it under the rug. We have all these ways to say shut the

fuck up and don't pick that battle but what we're really doing is

we're saying it is more important to make that other person feel okay than it is

for you to speak up for yourself.

And what that is oftentimes is a self-worth thing.

Like that person's once opinions needs are more important than mine.

And so I think it's really important that we don't allow

silence to make us a liar. And that's that's my personal perspective is I'm not

going to go along with something or be complicit with something that I don't agree with without

being vocal about it, but it does not mean a full-blown conversation.

So I will shut that shit down real quick.

Like with my brother, he'll want to keep going going going going and I'm like,

I told you already I'm not going to engage with you about this conversation. And it will literally walk away from him.
