One of the main points of this show is to highlight the content creators of our sport, and we have one of them on the podcast today.

Amy Clark is an ultra-runner based in Bend, Oregon. She's also the editor-in-chief of Ultra-Running Magazine, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. It's been a mainstay in our sport.

The monthly magazine has recurring columns on topics like nutrition, training and strategy,

running culture and philosophy, and race reports. That's all coupled with really cool photography

in the same way that I look forward to my subscriptions to Alpinist magazine and Surfer's Journal.

I love Ultroning Mag for the top-notch photography that's

included. The cover is always so cool. Anyways, in this episode, Amy and I cover some recurring themes of the

show in a new light. We talk about how and why the sport is growing. In particular, we look at how and why

female participation is growing. We look, we look at how and why female participation is growing.

We look at whether the United States can handle big festival-like ultra-running events comparable

to what we're seeing in Europe. We look at whether the FKT and personal project style of trail

running that gained popularity during COVID is here to stay.

Amy has experience as a race director, and she offers some thoughts on how to put on a good race.

And then, yeah, the whole debate about the East-West cultural divide in our sport comes up to.
