I've got Brian on the phone with me, and today we're going to be discussing the 2020 British horror film Amulet, written and directed by Ramola Garay and starring

Carly Jury, Emelda Stanton, and Alec Sikarano.

In this film, an ex-soldier finds shelter in an old house helping a woman care for her elderly mother, or so he

thinks. As usual, Brian and I are going to have a spoiler-free discussion up front. We'll talk about

the background of the film. There's some genre conversations. And then after taking a short

musical break, we will jump into the plots, hit some of the spoilers, and get to our review.

Brian, was this one up on your list in terms of 2020 movies we're supposed to be catching up on?

It wasn't high on the list, but it was nominated for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best First Feature.

Yeah, it didn't win any of those awards, though, did it?

No, it didn't.

That was the only thing it was nominated for, I believe.

And Aunt Timpson won that award for Come to Daddy.

Oh, okay, okay.

Yeah, that whole award show, and looking through that list kind of reminded me of this film.

So this one, i think we talked

about it last year but it just didn't grab your attention at all yeah i don't know i don't know why

it just wasn't high up on my list for whatever reason yeah and it probably you know it came out
