Hello, Hello everybody and welcome to The Total Soccer show.

My name is Taylor Rockwell, and it's time for our Americans in Action weekly roundup.

Lots of Americans are doing lots of things, and today we're going to talk about them to do so.

I'm joined by two fine fellas in both the literal and figurative sense.

You're both fine. Up first, the man who will be wearing a black armband on the day that Diego Valeri officially leaves the league. It's Joe Lowry. Hi, Joe. It will be a solemn day, Taylor. I'm not quite emotionally prepared for it. Just kidding. I am. I'm ready for it. But it's a big move coming up for Diego Valeri.

My honest question, will you be more emotionally impacted by Valeri leaving the league than you were, say, Messi leaving Barcelona? Uh, no. No, Messi leaving Barcelona is definitely a bigger thing in my head. Diego Valeri has been a fixture in Major League Soccer for a long time, and it will be weird to think about MLS without him. But at the same time, the writing's been on the wall for a bit, I guess as it was with Messi, but still, it's messy. You know, two Argentine tens, certainly, but it's messy. We're hot take merchants today when we say that Diego Valeri is not quite as important to global football as Seattle Messi. All right, hot take number one from Joe Lowry, joining us as well. An honorary American, it's Graham Ruthven. Graham, to be a true fan of the U.S. men's national team, you have to have hyperbolic opinions about certain players. So before we get into the show, which player are you irrationally into right now? Maybe not quite Billy Gilmore levels, but which

American comes closest? Which American comes closest? So I'm utterly fascinated with what's going on

with Sergino Dest and I've written three articles about him this week alone and I've got a fourth

one coming up later on in the week as well. So I don't know what's really going on with him at

Barcelona. I am slightly concerned, largely because my

own reputation is on the line, and I may have written last season that he was the natural heir to

Danny Alvesz at Barcelona. So it's a bit of a blow that he has now been replaced by Danny Alves

at Barcelona this season. So, yeah, I've got stock in Serino Des doing well.

Grim, you might be the truest American of the three of us on this show. Taylor, you and I haven't written four articles about Sergenio Des this week. What are we doing with our lives? I'm not even sure I know how to write an article, let alone four. But maybe, Graham, it's just Serginio Des, like, it's the king returning home to, like, teach the youngster how to rule.

Maybe that's what it is.

Maybe we just need Danny of us to literally take the position, then literally give it to

Serginio Dest.

Or maybe it's just so then he can move to Chelsea.

One way or the other.
