Amampur. Today marks one year since

George Floyd was murdered by police officer Derek Chauvin who knelt on Floyd's

neck for nine minutes and 29 seconds. His death and the horrifying video that captured it ignited a movement for racial

equality in the midst of the pandemic.

Black Lives Matter protesters taking to the streets across the world to call for an end to police

violence as well as wider change. Today President Joe Biden is meeting with the

Floyd family but he's missing his own deadline for reform. He had asked Congress to pass the George

Floyd Justice and Policing Act by now, but negotiations have hit roadblocks.

I've just spoken about this with Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass.

She's the chief author of the George Floyd Justice and Policing Act.
