That's just my way of saying, I don't know what time it is. Can somebody tell me?

No, actually, I don't really mean it in that sense. What I mean is it's that time of week, ladies and gentlemen, it's the beginning of hour two on Thursday, which is to say it's when we do our now infamous Ask Metaxus segment.

That's when folks write into us with questions.

Some of them are kooky.

Some of them are banal.

Others are very banal.

Others are very kooky. Some of them are insightful, some of them are

I've got a question, what's banal mean?

For example, that question itself, depending on who's asking it and to whom could be a banal

question.

would you advise Pope Gregory the 13th to arrange his calendar differently?

For instance, wouldn't it have been better if he had been guided to make February normally

30 days long instead of 28 so that the cold, dark days of January and the hot muggy days of July could each be only 30 days long
