The Michael Vary Show is on the air. Oh, The family cemetery you mentioned on the show is the Hillendahl family cemetery. It may have been relocated by now but for over 50 years

it was located at Long Point N. So Ramon it spelled PEC. This woman

says you spell it peck pronounce it Peck. Somebody else says it's

Petch. There used to be a commercial in Louisiana and they would have famous people pronouncing some of the French names of parishes and streets and they would have one person say

corundalet and the next one say say, Quran delay.

And they would make it that each one of them was saying,

this is the way we say it here.

But they actually said it both ways.

The beauty, and by beauty I mean most irritating thing about that is that

however you pronounce it someone will correct you.

My husband was born in 1951 and was raised in the neighborhood across Long Point from this intersection.

He remembers riding his bike all around the area before it was developed.

Located in a parking lot of Kmart stores now

demolished was the former site of the Hill and Dell Dairy Farm. The family

owned much of the land in the area as their family farm but was slowly sold

off in the 60s. The Chronicle did an article many

years ago on the history of the family. They sold and bought further out, maybe in Cyprus,

but the cemetery remained.
