Lieutenant Olivares, the choice of where, I guess it's Shelby Park as to where we would kind of

of make our stand, this is where we're going to put up the defenses. Is that because of how many

people come across there? It's a natural crossing. It was a crossing where there was

more fentanyl. How was that choice made? Well I mean Eagle Pass has been the has pretty much been

ground zero for the last two years for legal integration. If we look back

when everything started back in 2021 the the Real Grant Valley was the epicenter for

illegal immigration. We were seeing over 2000 plus. That's where everything started. And then

it kind of shifted. We saw that big influx in Del Rio in 2021 with the Haitians where we had over

17,000 plus in a single week. I mean it shifted back to Eagle Pass and it's been an Eagle Pass

ever since and that's been ground zero because for one there's less resistance on the Mexican

side as far as cartel violence so many of these legal immigrants are choosing the

path of police resistance to get across and obviously that's where it's at right now and that's why we see that influx, that large influx of people coming across.

We have that in December. This past December we have the largest influx of illegal immigration that we've ever

experienced the last three years with over 300,000 encounters across the

southwest border we were averaging four to 5,000 alone in Eagle Pass. Eagle Pass is a small border

community. 20, 25,000 population. They don't have, they cannot sustain, you know,
