I have to check that number again. Six Democrat congressmen have died in office. Six in just over a year. Two of them, going back to July 19th of last year when Sheila Jackson Lee died, two of them in the same congressional district, the 18th congressional district, first served by Barbara Jordan.

When Sheila Jackson Lee passed July 19th of last year, she was succeeded by Sylvester
