. I went back to Ohio But my city was gone

It was four years ago today

The Rush Limbaugh passed

I suspect for many of you

Hearing that opening Takes you back to a place of comfort, solace, grounding, being centered, based.

We didn't get to hear Rush, at least the opening,

because we would leave from the studio late afternoon,

but we would begin production and prep for the evening show after the morning show.

And that's when Rush was on.

But earlier, years earlier, we would be able to listen.

And that was always a treat.

It was always a treat to not have to speak to anybody at lunch, but one of the things I would do is go over to

Nielsen's deli, Nielsen's delicatessen on Richmond, and I'd call in my order, and while

it was on the break, I'd run in and grab it, I'd have it already, I'd run in and grab it,

and come back out and eat my roast beef with the special

spread and the apple wood cheddar on white with my chips and my iced tea and sit out in the car

and just listen to Rush Limbaugh and what a treat that was. Four years ago today,
