The Michael Dairy Show is on the air. Oh, Well, Huffman I S. D. is trying to gouge their residents with a 25% property tax increase. There is a vote this morning at Huffman I. S. D. I'm told

there are TV cameras there. They did it. I'm told at a time that they thought people

wouldn't come out, but people are pissed. Absolutely pissed. The story from KPRC TV.

Residents are concerned.

Homeowners are concerned about this proposed tax increase and they say it'll all happen without voter approval.

That's according to the district and according to the district's tax rate notice.

That was posted last month.

It's proposing to raise property taxes by up to 25% over last year's

rate that means an average homeowners tax bill would increase by

$176. Also according to the district it would not exceed the maximum tax increase that

would require voter approval. This comes after residents already passed a

91 million dollar bond last year. Huffman, I.

S.D. said was to address needs across the growing district.

We talked to Christie Keepers, who has lived here in this district for 20 years.

When you add in that our insurance rates have gone out, inflation is affecting a lot of people.

Community dues out here have also been raised. It's just a lot to take on when it just

keeps coming from everywhere. And this also comes as Huffman Istee has been under

investigation this year.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the district for using state resources to

influence political races through illegal electioneering.
